Rabiu Omaku

The Nasarawa State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Honorable Bamaiyi Anangba has threaten that the 26 Corp members that stage a protest at the entrance of Government House, Lafia must repeat six months of their service year.

In a chat with newsmen, the Commissioner confirmed that the affected Corp members contravened the NYSC act to take to the street over what he referred to nonpayment of 11 months state allowances.

Anangba described the protest as uncalled for, describing governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura as a compassionate and caring governor.

He maintained that the N5000 monthly allowance accorded Corp members is a privilege but not their right.

The state coordinator of NYSC, Zainab Isa could not be reached as at press time over the position of the Chairman NYSC Governing Board.
