Governor Al-Makura Chastise Akwe Doma Over Badakoshi Scheme

Nasarawa State governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura has berates his predecessor, Aliyu Akwe Doma for defrauding the state in the name of Badakoshi tractor scheme.

Al-Makura accused the former governor for indebting the state under the Badakoshi scheme with a debt of N1bn for tractors.

The governor said is going to be business unusual where money was diverted to unproductive venture.

Speaking at the handing over of rice post-harvest facility To Rice millers and dealers Association.

Al-Makura said government would be vigilant by ensuring that the beneficiaries use the facilities donated judiciously.

Saying the proper usage of the multimillion facilities would add value to vast of members of rice millers and dealers Association.

He said state government is not only handing over the facilities but structure and additional plot to the Association.

Adding that the effort to relocate the rice millers and dealers Association to a new site was to addressing congestion at Amba.

Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura however said the relocation would nip the pollution of Amba River by rice millers which remain the only source of drinking water.

He assured the Association of access road, stable power supply and water, saying in no distance time the Rice Post harvest processing Industry would be a food processing zone.

The Chairman of the Association, Alhaji Adamu Ibrahim thanked the governor for the effort.

He assured the State government of the proper utilization of the multi million Naira facilities donated.

Ibrahim listed the preponderances of the new site to include lack Of Power supply, access road and water.
