24 Died, 118 Survived In Bauchi Inferno Between  January To September 2016

Bauchi state fire service directorate has said about 24 people were confirmed death while 118 survived in 206 reported cases of fire incidents in the state from January to September, 2016.

The information office Abubakar Babanyaya Bala told universalreporters247.com that property worth over N194, 950,000 were among destroyed in fire incident cases in the year under review.

In the same vain, the fire service stressed that properties worth N521, 370,000 were also saved through rescue operation.

He lamented that inadequate fighting vehicles is a major challenge of the service explaining also that in spite of those challenges; the service has done a lot to save lives.

According to him the delay in responding to fire incidents has always been attributed to traffic gridlock and distance to the incident.

Bala urge the general public to always remain calm and law abiding citizens so as not to take law in their hands especially attacking firefighting team due to delay in responding to fire incidents.

The information officer urge government to assist the service with a view to always meets its operation towards protecting and saving life.
