2015: Gov. Al-Makura Is Not Qualify For A Second Tenure—Former Youth And Sports Commissioner
Former Commissioner for Youth and Sports Hon. Nurudeen Omar, who contested for Lafia /Obi Federal Constituency in the 2011 General Election has called on the All Progressive Congress, APC in the state not to give the 2015 Gubernatorial ticket to Governor Tanko Al-Makura .
Omar who expressed disappointment over Governor Tanko Al-Makura style of leadership in Nasarawa state, said the governor don’t deserve a second tenure because he is not focus and lack the vision to move the state forward.
Speaking to the Nigeria Union of Journalists at the Press centre in Jos, the Plateau State Capital, Omar Nurudeen said, governor Al-Makura has failed to provide to the people of the state with dividends of democracy.
According to him, most of them who supported him in the last political electioneering campaign have lived to regret their actions, ever since he became the Governor; the state was run by him and his family.
The inability of governor to address Challenges facing the health, education, roads construction and other social amenities in two years with rising security challenges affecting his administration is a demonstration that the people of the state will not support him in the 2015 general elections.
Besides, he pointed out that governor’s failure is attributed to his lack of focus, greed and self centered attitude, “emerging he has been running the state like his personal enterprise and to me he is not qualify to go for a second tenure”.
“Some of us have made several efforts to share our experience with him but he turned us down”.
Speaking on whether the killings of police officers and other security personnel by the custodians of Eggon traditional value, called “Ombatse”, was orchestrated by religious means, he said Al-Makura is not willing to tell the world the truth.
“His problem with Eggon is that, he did had political arrangements with Senator Solomon Ewuga for the seat of senate and Governorship, it was agreed that Ewuga should support him for just four year term and he will in turn support Ewuga for senate where after that they will swap in that direction”.
“Now, the crux of the matter is that while the Eggons are warming up that there time is ripped for the number one seat of the state, the man ‘Al-Makura’ is not willing to honour the gentleman agreement”.
