No fewer than 18 people died in a ghastly motor accident at Birninkudu local government area in Jigawa state.
Report from the state indicated that the accident occurred at around 6:30 am along Birninkudu to Kano road where two Hummer buses have a head-on collision at Malam Alyssa farm about 10 kilometers to Birninkudu town.
Confirming the incident the Jigawa state Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Lawan Shisu Adam said: “today 9th two 18 seater Hummer buses from the opposite direction had the head of the collision, as a result, they went in flames where 12 peoples burnt beyond recognition”.
The police public relations officer added that “6 peoples dead instantly. Their corpses have been deposited at federal medical center BirninKudu”.
According to him, one person (driver) survived, now in the hospital recovering treatment.
