Hon.Comr. Chidi Emeagi, the Publisher of Nigerian Newsguide Newspaper, the  Management, the Staff and the Editorial Board of the newspaper firm in Owerri, was on last month (Saturday,Sept.25th 2021) , successfully celebrated their 13th anniversary ceremony of the news-media industry  in a grand styles amidst great intellectual benefits, jubilations and fun fare.

 

In a laudable manner, the event was held at Nkanu Hall at Links Hotel New-Owerri Area of Imo State, attracted so many notable personalities, business men and women, academic gurus, Traditional Rulers, Religious leaders, students, political merchants, and some  leaders of thoughts from across the state.

 

The 13th ceremonial anniversary of Nigerian Newsguide Newspaper on board as one of the most reliable news medium featured:”Public lecture, Award Presentation, and Fund Raising for Consolidation”.

 

The event which recorded huge successes under the distinguished Chairmanship of Hon.Dr.Gabrial Chuma Onyekuru, the Founder/President of Marvyn Int’l.Academy,Abuja, with the Imo State House of Assembly Member Representing  Owerri West State Constituency, Hon.Chief Kanayo Onyemaechi Dele (Majority Leader,IMHA) as the Co-Chairman of the occasion, whereas the Imo State Governor, Sen.Hope Uzodinma, was the distinguished Guest of Honour.

 

The Guest Speaker was  Dr.Richard Okoye, the Chief Medical Director, CMD, Chief Executive Officer,CEO, of Doctors Save-A-Life Mission Hospitals Worldwide.

 

At the event,the Imo Chief of Staff to the Governor, Barr.Nnamdi Anyaehie, expressed continuous readiness to partnering with Imo press,even as he charged   journalists to always report on investigative journalism, objectivity and constructively criticize the Shared Prosperity Government at will,when necessary.

 

He therefore encouraged the media to direct the masses aright as part of the duties towards strengthening the society.

 

Chief Anyaehie, more so, harped on the needs to foster unity, peace and effective security for the progress of Imo State.

 

“As journalists, you are in-charge of the society. It is your right and call to enlighten, educate and re-orient the  people and project the truth as it is. Endeavour to shun all kinds of fake news”, Anyaehie advised the press.

 

“The Govt.of Imo State under Governor Hope Uzodinma is ever willing, ready and eager to partner with news moguls for the growth of the state”, Anyaehie submitted.

 

Some of the highly respected individuals honoured at the anniversary includes: “The Provost, Federal College of Land Resources Technology, FECOLART, Oforolla Owerri, Dr.Solomon Oluyemi Akande, Sir.Dr.Engr.Luke Uzoigwe, from the Imo State University,IMSU, Owerri, the Special Adviser to the Govt.of Imo State on Local Govt/Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon.Chief Mrs.Rubby Emele, the Proprietor of Royal Way Child Development Academy, Umuodu Mbieri, Pastor Valentine Arizonma”.

 

Other awardees are: ” The Interim Management Committee,IMC, of Oru-West, Hon.Chief Willie Okolieigwe, the Medical Director/Chief Executive Officer of Everight Diagnostics/Laboratory Services Ltd.Owerri, Mr.Everest Okpara, the Super Fire Fighter Commander, Imo Fire Service Owerri, Mr. Japhet Okoroafor, and the Provost of Federal College of Education,Eha-Amaufu,Ebonyi State, Dr.Mrs. Pauline Ikwuegbu, amongst others”.

 

Speaking shortly after his award, the Provost of Federal College of Land Resources Technology,FECOLART, Owerri, Dr. Solomon Oluyemi Akande, expressed satisfaction to associate and partner with Newsguide Newspaper, even as he expressed delight on his award by the management of Newsguide.

 

The FECOLART Provost, Oluyemi Akande, therefore encouraged the celebrity Newspaper Publisher,Emeagi, and other Imo based journalists to ceaselessly dwell on proper media objectivity and investigative journalism.

 

Dr.Akande, while speaking described his institution, FECOLART as the best institution in Nigeria both in practical knowledge, character and in learning.

 

The FECOLART Provost, Dr.Solomon, therefore encouraged parents, guidances in Imo State and Nigerians to ensure their children and wards are enrolled to study in his college, added the authority of his institution (the Federal Government via the Ministry of Agriculture) have perfected plans to establish a viable Skill Acquisition Hub for the students as part of leveraging them to stand firm in the global markets as employers of labour during or after graduation from FECOLART.
