Muslim Youth group warn Muslims against social vices

The National Council of Muslim Youth Organisation ( NACOMYO), northern chapter, has  challenged Muslims in the country to shun all forms of social vices capable of tarnishing the image of Islam and their future.

The group which gave the warning in a communiqué signed by the northern coordinator, Engr. Yakubu Ahmad Jumber, during its last quarterly retreat, held in Jos.

He  also called on Muslim youths in the country to engage in seeking knowledge whether Islamic or Secular.

Adding that the government should make education easy and accessible to reducing criminal tendencies by the youths in the society.

The statement revealed that, “Parents at all level should be duty bound to give their wards proper education and training. NACOMYO calls on the Islamic organizations and scholars in the country to open more schools particularly institutions of higher learning to allow  Muslims Youths in the country to enrol .

On the incident that happened between Shia group and military, the release reads, “participants condemned in totality the attitude of Shi’ite group in the last Saturday’s clash with the military in Zaria Kaduna State and also the excess power used by the military force against the civilians at any slightest provocation.

“We also called on the Federal Government to set up an independent Commission of enquiry which will involve the youths as members since the incident involved mostly youths and report of the Commission should be made public, ” it added. The occasion witnessed participants from all 19 northern states and FCT.
