The Chief Medical Director of Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital, Dr.Yakubu Ashuku has commended the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Nasarawa chapter for fair reportage of activities of the hospital.

Dr.Ashuku hinted this when members of the Correspondents’ Chapel paid him a courtesy visit, he commended the inquisitiveness and eagerness of the press to know the happenings in Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital spur the hospital to be where it was today.

He asserted that the role of the media can never be over emphasized as he applauded the press for portraying the good image of the hospital, saying the press play an integral role in nation building.

Dr,Yakubu Ashuku while commending the press denied any crack in the relationship between the management of the hospital ,the Correspondents’ Chapel extended to other Journalists in the state.

“I don’t think we can thank you enough for the mutual standing between this hospital and the press,our relationship is intact”, said the Chief Medical Director.

He congratulated the new executive of the Chapel led by the chairman, Abubakar Suleiman of Nagarta Radio, wishing the leadership God’s guidance and protection in piloting the affairs of the Chapel.

He reel out the major challenges of DASH to grim relationship between the hospital management, patients and relatives as a stumbling block to the operations of the hospital, pointing out that doctors and nurses were humiliated in most cases.

“Is not always good news between our staff were humiliated, while sometimes you can’t control the number of relatives coming to see a patient, this constitutes some of our preponderances, he added.

Abubakar Suleiman, chairman of the Correspondents’ Chapel applauded the Chief Medical Director for bringing new ground to the hospital; he explained that a lots has been achieved under the headship of Dr.Ashuku while he attributed the success to the open door policy of the head of the hospital.

He listed some of the success stories to include the establishment of blood bank, dialysis centre which can stand the taste of time, assuring Dr.Yakubu of total support and commitment of the Chapel.

The national vice President of the NUJ, Zone D, Chief Wilson Bako in a vote of thanks appreciate the management of DASH for honoring the visit, describing Ashuku as a media friendly doctor.

“By presenting the new crop of executive as well introducing our members would help the hospital to identify who are members and who are not”.

Chief Wilson Bako opined that the NUJ in Nasarawa state is very ready to get rid of bad eggs humiliating personalities as well impersonators infiltrating the profession.

“We will accord all necessary and maximum cooperation to the hospital to achieve it set goals”.

The national vice president, Zone D commended the CMD for restructuring the hospital in it’s entirety.
