A Young Author Haruna Yusuf Abba, who has unveiled his new book titled ‘Breathe In The Future’ has spoken on his inspiration and doggedness of the political prowess of Nigerian youths and the challenges of dealing with the older generation of the old politicians in Nigeria.
The author seeks to know the contributions of the youth and what they can do towards liberating themselves from the politics of thuggery, this was stated during the unveiling of the book to the public on the 2nd October 2021 at the Aliyu Akwe Doma indoor theater Hall University of Jos.
Excerpt from the book “Breathe into the future”
In my sleep I hear the voices of my people who are beaten, blue and black, by the dying system, crying out for the goodness in men, crying out for universal brotherhood; for the unity of the rest of the world against tyranny and manipulation of the younger generation to their selfish agenda.
Thus, I made it my greatest objective to stand for the people, until they rediscover their voices, and recapture their power and liberty to be in charge of their lives and destinies.
The power to rise up in oneness of mind and purpose to stand in defence of democracy and their fundamental rights to freedom of expression, freedom speech, liberty, the dignity of their human persons, and many other rights especially in Nigeria the most populated black nation.
It is the cry of my heart that is in the words of Aisha Yesufu, ‘the child of nobody can become somebody without knowing anybody. I am on the path of becoming a product of her assertion, and I cry hard, fight hard and toil daily for a full realization of that vision.
It is the cry of my heart that one day, our youth be vindicated from the hands of inhuman men; the men who see them as nothing but the tools for social disorder, electoral manipulation, and hooliganism.
The men who give them drugs for the execution of their freakishness and incongruous ideologies.
It is the cry of my heart to build the youth who will go out to ask questions about the past, not with an intention of blaming anyone, but with an intention to reconstruct the headlines and change narratives.
It is the cry of my heart that the mothers understand that they hold the other half of the sky and have the power to sanitize the society and give it meaning that directly answers their needs and desires.
It is the cry of my heart to stand up to speak like Chaplin, to say, ‘you, the people, have the power to make this life free and beautiful, to make this life a beautiful adventure.
Then in the name of democracy, let us use that power. Let us all unite. Let us fight for a new world, a decent world that will give men a chance to work, that gives youth a future and old age a security.
To unite the people against lies and deception is one of my life’s greatest goals and I will spend forever in pursuit of this course. Though less regarded, I treasure it and I will stand with it till the dawn.
The Realist, condemned the dubious manipulation of innocent minds to build on the daily foundation of destroying the commonwealth of the nation blackmailing each other’s using gender, tribes or religious sentiment was the greedy achievements that punched the spirit.
