The Chairman Afizere Youths movement Jos under the Izere chiefdom, Jos North Local Government Council, Comrade Joseph Arin IZANG (JP) in response to a rejoinder to a text posted on the social media by Hon. Bitrus Kaze dated, on 10th May, 2019 title “Jos North and Riyom Traditional council reform: heralding the Emir of Jos?; ‘we write and disabuse the minds of the general public from being misled by Bitrus Kaze and his cohorts by setting the records straight.

Comrade Izang told journalists that the Hon Bitrus Kaze is desperate politicians who want bring about disunity amongst peace loving Izere speaking natives of Plateau and Bauchi states.

He disclosed that is why the Afizere youths always take this as a rare privilege provided by the press to react on issues bordering them, especially on issue that has to do with their roots and cultural identity.

We know fully well that Bitrus is not ignorant of the facts but has resorted to outright mischief and cheap blackmail against his people for his personal aggrandizement.

He therefore revealed that, “we make bold to say that Bitrus has lost touch with his people and even lost his political relevance that is why he is so desperate to display his unpatriotic disposition against the very people he came from. Although it can be understood that Bitrus is acting on the script of his paymasters.

For example the antecedence of Bitrus can be traced to the statement he made to Jos Izere Traditional Rulers during the Jang administration in a sitting at the LEA primary school Lamingo where he vehemently objected to the creation of chiefdom and village areas by Governor Dariye and even called for its abolition knowing very well that his people were wangling under a suppressive regime and needed to be emancipated.

In order to put the records straight, we wish to correct the negative as propagated by Bitrus Kaze on the social media that the Adagwom Jos Izere Chiefdom is not on government payroll and he is not answerable to any traditional council. Bitrus Kaze himself and the general public should know that Adagwom Jos Izere has since been on government payroll and fully enjoys all entitlements attached to his office.

He is answerable to the Jos North Traditional Council under the chairmanship of the Ujah of Anaguta. The Adagwom Jos Izere Chiefdom has eleven (11) Districts under his jurisdiction which spread across Jos North LGA, as defined in the enabling gazette, which Bitrus pretended not to know.

We are using this medium because the press has always provided a veritable platform for citizens to fundamentally air their views on matters that affect their well-being as a nation.

The process in which the chiefdom was created went through the government committee on the creation of chiefdoms and districts whose recommendation was upheld by government and passed into law by Plateau State House of Assembly.

In view of the above, Bitrus Kaze as a former legislator worthy of his salt should have expediently investigated the facts on ground before rushing to the social media to dish out these catastrophic utterances full of lies.

After all Bitrus is from the same constituency with the present Speaker of Plateau State and his house is also a stone throw away from that of Adagwom Jos-Izere Chiefdom, where he would have easily reached them for clarification if not for his subterraneous tendencies.

According to him, “it is very clear that Bitrus is a wolf in the desert crying foul in desolation and seeking for relevance through mischievousness.

It is unfortunate that after grooming him in the Afizere culture he has suddenly soiled himself by adopting cultural values that are alien to us. Otherwise how can a sensible Izere person resort to ridiculing his people before the world with mischief and lies?

The question to ask Bitrus is where did he develop this indecent culture of sustained attacks on Jos Izere Chiefdom and indeed Izere Nation?  We advise Bitrus to return to his roots and imbibe Izere culture. He should pursue his political ambition with decency and decorum without mortgaging his people for a pot of soup.

We are therefore calling on well-meaning citizens of Plateau State and indeed all Nigerians to disregard these obnoxious and outrageous vituperations of this gullible sinking ship who does not mean well for his people.

After all he had never showed interest in the emancipation of his people, particularly, the Afizere people of Jos North and Izere nation generally as demonstrated earlier.
