The level of Wudil River is now on high density and is threatening people’s lives especially those living around the riverine areas especially people in Jigawa.

This was disclosed by the special adviser on community and social inclusion to Jigawa State Governor Alhaji Hamza Muhammed Hadejia shortly after inspecting areas where flood washed away farmlands and destroyed houses and public schools across the five educational zones in the state.

He explained that the level of water pressure at Wudil River is threatening the people along the Rriverine areas.

Hamza said according to their findings the flood has damaged over 60 percent of Fadama Farm Land as he said Fadama farmers have made a serious loss of farm produce worth millions of Naira.

He called on the federal government to come to their aid by dredging the river as well as removes Typha grass which blocks the water channels, as this will enable the easy flow of water.

He assured that if Hadejia River is dredged from Dabi Village of Ringim Local Government Down To Hadejia Nguru the farming system would be improved as he said that the Jigawa State can feed the nation.
