It Is Wrong To Link Herdsmen For The Murder Of Saf Ron Kurele Of Bokkos—Sultan

The Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar lll has condemned the brutal killing of Saf Ron Kulere, Lazarus Agai the first class traditional ruler of Bokkos LGA by unknown gunmen on Monday with the son and wife.

The sultan of Sokoto also solicited for religious tolerance and peaceful coexistence among the peace loving citizens of Nigeria.

He made this disclosure while paying a condolence visit to the Gbong Gwom Jos, Da Jacob Gyang Buba over the death of Saf Ron Kurele, at his Palace in   Dishe, on Wednesday.

The Sultan stated thus; “we should all condemn this as a criminal act because no religion preached violence.

The sultan of Sokoto cautioned media against jumping into conclusion over the recent killing by linking it to herdsmen.

“Journalists who reported the incident just jump into conclusion and said it was herdsmen who killed the traditional ruler, the Saf Ron Kulere, without waiting for investigations from security agencies to provide details on the incidents that is not fair” he said.

He described the action as barbaric as he said those who perpetuated the heinous act of brutality against humanity should know that we are all equal before God and  only God that can determine who is better .

Abubakar urged we should let live peaceful with one another in respective of our diverse ethnic differences.

“You don’t take somebody life, this can only be done or affirmed before judicial system ,the situation we all found ourselves in,  let give peace a chance ,we found ourselves by chance of being born into a particular tribe or religious”, he added.

Abubakar called on the Nigerian security to expose the killer of Saf Ron Kurele late, as he stressed that Nigerians are peace loving citizens, we only have some few elements whether they are herdsmen or farmers, they don’t practice religious, we should expose them in our mixed.

According to him, we should go back to our cultural system and fish out the bad eggs among us by partnering security agencies.

As traditional institution; “we express condemnation  anytime ,anyone is killed ,we are here as members of Northern primary health care within the North representing the people at the grassroots on courtesy calls to the people of Plateau state over the demise of our colleagues.

He commended that, it is quite long he came back to Plateau State especially after several years of hostility; we can now have confidence to see peace gradually returning to the state.

“We are very delighted to see the return of peace and pray to sustain its but without peace there can’t be meaningful development in the state and the country”, he noted.

The Sultan lamented that, curfew was imposed restricting movement and disrupting worship centres in the past, adding that no religious should be imposes on the people.

Speaking further, sultan of Sokoto maintained that; “our diverse background is seen as an access, we should continue to say that our unity is very important to us, we can live peacefully without harassing each one another.

“We want peace on the Plateau as traditional leaders, we can go extra miles to bring peace to our communities, and we are brothers from Adam and Eve, so we call on religious leaders to preach tolerance.”

Responding on behalf of Plateau Traditional councils Chairman, His Royal Highness’s the Gbong Gwom Jos, Da Jacob Gyang Buba prayed God for more blessing in the rainy season.

Buba said security is everybody business; we must not sit down and begin to accuse security for what is happening, unfortunately the solution is a collective responsibility for all to join hands with the security.

He disclosed that one of the reasons of crisis is injustice among the people. Buba recommended the revamping of tourism sectors to boost the economy of Nigeria.
