Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura of Nasarawa state has described the utterances of the former minister of Information, Labaran Maku as an act of irresponsibility and bad blood meant to cause aspersions in the state.
The governor disclosed this during the inauguration of the Interim Management Committee chairmen at the government House, Lafia.
Al-Makura said all workers that participated in the recent Biometric Verification Number has since been giving their salary.
“Virtually all workers that participated in the last BVN has gotten their salary”.
The governor expressed dissatisfaction over an interview granted by the governorship candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance in 2015 election.
Umaru Tanko Al-Makura debunked that all workers that signed vouchers have since been paid their wage.
The reaction followed a recent interview granted Journalists during the burial of a daughter of former Deputy Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly at Adevi community of Obi’ Local Government.
He described the speeches of Maku saying workers are paid on table payment as a hate speech.
The governor, in addition, revealed that the state assets are in a dilapidated condition, this compelled the state government to do the needful by attempting to sell the abandoned structures.
“We expended N200 million to recover our property in Victoria Island”.
The governor called on the Interim Management Committee Chairmen to ensure that probity and steadfastness remain their watchword.
