Nasarawa state Governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura in a bid to ameliorate the plight of people engulfed in communal crisis has promised to reconstruct bridges destroyed in the recent clashes that erupted in Odeni Magaji and its environs.
Al-Makura stated this when he visited the crisis stricken area of Odeni Magaji of Nasarawa Local, the governor assured the people that bridges and culverts would be given attention in the next six months.
“All bridges and culverts in no distant time would be constructed from Odeni Magaji to Agbashi and Idadu ” the Governor said the reconstruction of bridges and culvert will ease the trepidation faced by communities.
The Governor who supported the community with a mobile hospital buttressed that the hospital on wheels was meant to replace the conventional hospitals destroyed during the skirmish.
His royal highness , the Osu Ajiri , Halilu Bala Usman applauded the state Governor for the construction of feeder road linking Agbashi and Oderni Magaji, saying the road has been neglected for the past years by successive regimes.
The paramount ruler averred that the feeder road within Nasarawa-Benue border has been neglected for decades, appealing to the state Governor to extend security surveillance to other crisis stricken community.
Halilu Bala Usman also commended the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) for extending their hands of fellowship by donating immensely for the Internally Displaced Persons.
The Governor in the company of Osu Ajiri, the council chairman ,Usman Wandai, the state commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs,Aliyu Tijjani and host of other personalities inspected the palace and other houses destroyed.
The Governor who made an unscheduled visit to General hospital Agbashi expressed displeasure over the neglect of the hospital by medical practitioners, he raised eyebrows over the abandoned hospital, Al-Makura said all stakeholders involved will be held responsible for the project.
Villagers within Odeni Magaji,Agbashi and amongst other communities smiled home with money as the Governor who was in a good mood spread money along road side .
