Why North-Central Endorsed Candidacy Of Rt.Hon Idris Maje For Speakership Seat -Sen.Timothy Adudu

A group of concerned Former Senators, House of Representatives, speakers and members of state Assembly from Plateau state Senator Timothy Adudu has urged the All Progressive Congress,APC, to zone the position of speaker of Federal House of Representatives seat to North-Central for the interest of fairness and justice .
He admitted they have find it mandatory to lend their voices to the ongoing search for a speakership for the House of Representatives and the choice of Hon Deputy Speaker is the most credible and qualify person to occupy the seat.
We endorse the candidacy of Federal House of Representative of Wase Constituency ,Rt .Hon. Idris Ahmed Maje for the seat of speaker of the 10th Assembly as he served as the most credible and qualify candidate in the race in North-Central Nigeria .
The Members of the Former legislators were at the NUJ ,Plateau State Council on Saturday as they thrown their weights behind Rt. Hon. Ahmed Idris Maje to be emerged as the 10th speaker of the House of Representatives.
The concerned former legislators from Plateau also called on the leadership of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) and other stakeholders to consider ceding the position of the 10th Assembly speakership to the North Central geopolitical zone for the interest of equity and justice.
The group said they are not against any industrious sons and daughters jostling the position of speakership but for the interest of Plateau, whoever that is contesting from Plateau should rally support around Maje.
Speaking to newsmen at the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) Secretariat in Jos Saturday, leader of the group,
Senator Adudu said in going into a contest of this nature that is very competitive, “one has to go with its very best so as to compete with others.
” Given this scenario therefore, by our own estimation, our very best is Rt.Hon.Ahmed Idris Wase (popularly known as Make in Plateau state) the current deputy speaker of the House.
“We believe Hon.Wase has the requisite credentials that can compete favorably with any member from around the country.
“It is a known fact that he has earned the respect of his colleagues due to his legislative prowess and leadership pedigree in the art of legislative matters and proceedings, we think Rt.Hon. Ahmed Idris Wase stands out here.
” As fifth timer in the House rising to the position of the current deputy speaker we think if has prepared him for the leadership of the House.
“We appeal to Nigerians particularly his colleagues in the Green chamber to give this our son in whom we are well pleased the opportunity to lead the House of Representatives during this 10th Assembly”, Senator Adudu stated.
