Hon. Mukulu a member of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly Hon. Muhammed Mukulu has explain why the Nasarawa State House of Assembly advocated for the autonomy of the Local Government in the country.
Mukulu buttressed that the Assembly rejected the ongoing review of indigenship and supported the scrapping of State Independent Electoral Commission, as he expressed his support for the autonomy of the third tier of Government as he said it will in no small measure end the predicament of State/Local Government Joint Account.
“The Financial autonomy of Local Government is the only solution to addressing the lingering scam embarked by the State Governors and staffs of Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs. From now onward if the autonomy of the third tier of local government has the overwhelming approval, the sky will be the starting point for chairmen of local government.
In addition he said the autonomy of the third tier of government will end the appointment of Transitional Management Committee Chairmen, Mukulu also asserted that Local Government under the State/Local Government Joint Account are just an appendage of the State Government.
“The Local Government being the closest to the people are suffering of financial hurdles, the autonomy will also unchain the third tier of Government over the tenure of elective Local Council official. He said how do you expect a chairman to perform in one year.

Hon. Muluku also added that the lawmakers rejected the review of indigenship as it didn’t pass through; he stated further that the State House of Assembly approved the scrapping of State Independent Electoral Commission, as he added that two hours decision was to fulfill the righteousness of the legislative arm.
