Why Federal University Lafia Sacked  9 Staff -Vice Chancellor

The Vice Chancellor of the Federal University Lafia, Professor Muhammed Liman has unveiled that nine staff of the University  were sacked by the governing council of the University over their involvement in employment racketeering.

Professor Liman stated this when members of the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Nasarawa state council paid him a courtesy call at his office, he said the affected staff included 8 male and one female staff.

Professor Muhammed Liman commended the elected officials of the Chapel and pray for God guidance in running the affairs of the Chapel, while reacting over percentage payment, the Vice Chancellor said the institutions has no backlog of arrears owned it staff.

“Last week Friday all our staff received an alert, this was as a result of augmentation of our subvention”

The Vice Chancellor seek for mutual working relationship and cooperation between the University and the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, adding that the University limit the number to be admitted due to lean resource, lectures hall and accommodation.

He tasked Journalists to always verify their report before going to the press, debunking a report by one media outfit (not universal reporters) that the University accessed 2014-2015 normal intervention, describing the report as a fallacy.

Agwai Othman Anas whose appointment was terminated has given the University a weeks ultimatum to revisit his matter or face litigation. The fresh can of worms followed a two page letter addressed to the Vice Chancellor calling on the governing council to sack the registrar for abbeting the lingering employment saga.

1.Victor Iyang-dismissed

2.Markson-dismissed

3.Mr.Efiong dismissed

4.Agwai Othman Anas-termination

5.Clement Usoro Jackson -termination

6.Ahmed Muhammed Abdul’aziz-termination

7.Taiwo Kehinde-termination

8.Apeshi Salihu Abubakar-Demoted.

While name of the affected female staff was not made known as at press time, fresh facts unveiled that some persons with strong connection who soiled their hands in the employment racketeering were never invited, none were sacked  for the offences they committed only time shall tell.
