Why Didn’t Recession Affect N200 Million Security Vote—PDP Demands Answer From Al-Makura

The state chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, Hon.Francis Orogu has expressed displeasure over the N200m monthly security vote received by the state governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura  to the detriment of the masses in the state.

Orogu hinted this during a press briefing held at the party headquarters in Lafia, he expressed dismay over the static N200m monthly security vote even in the hit of the current economic crunch.

“The need to cut down the security vote of N200m monthly became imperative as workers been the engine room suffers in anguish and agony.

The chairman in addition said that civil servants are been marginalised under the present All Progressives Congress in the state in the name of new minimum wage.

The PDP chairman said is not business as usual when government would award contract at will, asking pertinent question how much was expended contracts ?,who are the contractors ? How much was the balance and where is the money for the construction of Airport?

“Workers in the state are not pay as at when due while traditional rulers salary was been thwarted with, and wrong persons and incompetent hands been replace as permanent Secretaries”.

Calling on people of the state to raise up to the occasion of thwarting with the livelihood of the civil servants, he however said the failure of the APC regime has reflected on all and sundry including the non-working class in the state.

“Imagine how people from nowhere are impersonating as elders of Nasarawa state, he said the party dissociates itself from those party men disguising as elders”.

Orogu sympathized with the crop of the last permanent secretaries been sacked by the governor, saying the sacking of the carrier civil servants is a sign of weak government.

“Politics was meant to create room for survival but not hunger; he attested that the party would clinch the governorship seat come 2019.

“We are hopeful that the PDP will produce the next governor, a governor that would respect the press and be workers friendly regime”.

He also challenged the press (broadcast stations) to allocate reasonable time for phoning-in programmes, saying the reasonable time would give the citizenry the opportunity to ask questions on how their state was been run.

Ex- Ambassador, Samuel Jimba commended the leadership of the party for the smooth running of the party, he added that,”a purposeful leadership always begets a purposeful followers.

Saying the leadership of the party under Francis Orogu is a sign of good thing to happen in the party.
