The Presidential and National Assembly election has come and gone but the memories still remain fresh in the minds of movers and shakers of the ruling All Progressives Congress across the three senatorial zones of the State.

The bitter piles of defeat experienced are from left, right and centre, the shock of all was the defeat of the National Chairman of the party, Senator Abdullahi Adamu who loses the Senate seat which he imposed a senatorial candidate against the wishes of the majority as APC follower in Keffi, Toto, Karu Nasarawa, Kokona resisted the move which ended at the apex court, the supreme court in the nation’s capital.

The outcome of Saturday’s 25th election has exposed the ruling party to dangers following the resolves of the electoral umpire, The Independent National Electoral Commission to conduct the 2023 general election with the use of the Bimodal Voting System which was meant to sanitize the country’s election.

The National Chairman of the party, Abdullahi Adamu not only lose the election to a new party in town but to a party that lacks structure, that is the Social Democratic Party, The anointed candidate of Senator Adamu suffers a defeat in almost all the five Local Governments.

The arch. rival of the National Chairman who on several occasions described himself as the deciding factor in the political space of Nasarawa State, Hon. Ahmed Aliyu Wadada was elected a senator under the auspices of the SDP, Likewise, Hon. Jonathan Gbefwi Gaza was returned elected after defecting from the PDP to APC so as to secure his seat to represent the good people of Karu/Keffi/Kokona federal constituency, Gaza was denied a return ticket of the APC and suddenly jumped ship to the SDP, and today is history.

The National Chairman of the party lost grip of his party in Nasarawa West senatorial district, The ruling party also suffers humiliation at the hands of the SDP in Nasarawa North, The incumbent Senator representing the zone in the APC, Godiya Akwashiki was denied the ticket of the party because of his closeness to the former Governor of the State, and now Senator representing Nasarawa South, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura whose first term as senator from the zone will expire in June 2023.

Some political analysts described Akwashiki as the Bulldozer while others described him as the messiah of the people due to his marvelous achievements barely four years in the senate, Godiya Akwashiki was the Deputy speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, opinion shapers in the State are of the view that Danladi Halilu Emvulanza is not a match to Akwashiki,

The APC despite the defeat won the House of Representatives seat in the Toto/Nasarawa federal constituency, Akwanga/Wamba/Nasarawa Eggon and Awe/Doma/Keana Federal constituency, The occupant of the seat, Abubakar Hassan Nalaraba spring surprises by returning elected, Though in spite of both internal and external forces to ensure that he lose his re-election bid he was stronger as forces within the zone and the party fielded a candidate in African Democratic Congress, Yusuf Atala to destroy and reduce his vote failed.

The ruling party, however, loses the seat of Nasarawa South senate seat to a fresher in the senate Rt. Hon. Mohammed Ogoshi Onawo from the PDP, by displacing senator Al-Makura from the seat, political observers are of the opinion that Al-Makura did not win the 2019 election rather it was the occupant Suleiman Adokwe, Other factors that play in 2023; the general election was the introduction of B-VAS which some onlookers described as a beginning and an end to election manipulation.

The second factor that played in the just conducted election was that Alago, Migili, Eggon and other groups have vowed to pay the former Governor back the trepidation they passes through when he held sway as the Governor This was the position of Local Government workers who were subjected to per cent payment of salaries couple with pending promotions for a period of right years.

The third factor was the endorsement of Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura as an unopposed candidate as well the endorsement of his nephew, Mohammed Ahmadu Al-Makura, son to the elder brother to Senator Al-Makura, for House of Representatives representing Lafia/Obi federal constituency under the platform of the APC, The 2023 election brings an end to the dynasty of Al-Makura.

Mohammed Ahmadu Al-Makura was defeated by the incumbent, Hon Abubakar Sarki Dahiru of the SDP, AKA chop chop, The APC also loses Nasarawa State to Peter Obi of the Labour Party, Is not yet uhuru for the ruling All Progressives Congress until the conclusion of the Governorship and House of Assembly election in the State, Over the week, The Governorship candidate of the Labour Party Ewuga Joseph join forces with the PDP Gubernatorial candidate ahead of 18, March 2023 Governorship election in the State.

While on the other hand, all efforts to lure the New Nigeria People’s Party Gubernatorial candidate, Yakubu Abdullahi Maidoya claimed abortive, It was gathered that the National Chairman of the party and selected muslim clerics met with the leadership of Sultanate to persuade Maidoya to withdrew his Governorship ambition botched, There is an indication that the supporters of Labour Party mostly non-indigenes of Nasarawa State have spoken, That is to accord support to David Emmanuel Ombugadu of the PDP.

Others that lost grip of the party victory are the State Deputy Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe, Commissioners, House of Assembly members, Senior Special Assistants and Local Government Chairmen
