We Have $250,000 As Grant For Fish Farmers, Processors, And Dealers Cooperatives -Olam Agri Disclosed

Stakeholders in the fish industry in the country have appealed to fish farmers, dealers, processors, and other value chains to as a matter of urgency form a cooperative with other to access the 250,000-dollar grant set aside for beneficiaries.
The Regional Manager of Olam Agri. , The producers of livestock feeds gave the hint during a one-day training workshop and the flouting of a new feed into the national market known as Alpha +, A workshop held at the College of Agriculture, Science, and Technology, Lafia at the weekend.
Mr Emmanuel Abiola, The Regional Manager stated this, He said money to the tune of 250,000 dollars was set aside as a grant to fish farmers, processors, and other value chains, Giving stiffer preconditions for a cooperative to qualify for the grant
Abiola said an individual cannot qualify for the grant instead, insisted that people or traders must form a cooperative.
Saying, A cooperative must be a registered Association having collateral backed up with documents
Rabiu Dogara Omaku, The Nasarawa State Public Relations Officer of Fishery Cooperative Federation and Aquaculture, represented the State Chairman of the Association.
Honorable Bashir Mohammed Umar, in his speech, said FCFN as a registered Association is qualified in all ramifications to access the grant.
He said the Association has been in existence for the past 10 years, having a total of almost ten thousand members cut across the thirteen Local Governments.
