The Commissioner of Environment and Mining in Nasarawa State, Hon.Magarete Itake Elayo has confirmed that money to the tune of N10,000 each was collected from the 37 operators of Keke Napep.
She gave the hint during an exclusive interview with selected Journalists at the New State Secretariat along Shendam road.
Hon.Magrete Itake Elayo opined that the Keke Napep operators gave N10, 000 and was well captured with a backup of receipts, and the money went to the Agency in charge of Sanitation, she added.
The Commissioner, while reacting to the non-adherence to safety measures and lack of indicators of service providers’ masts in the State, said service providers’ masts are not in her ministry.
The Commissioner further confirmed that there are no illegal miners in the State; rather, there are artisanal miners who are collaborating with large-scale miners in the State.
