We Are To Foster Peace And Unity Among Igbos And Host Communities-Igbo Group

An organization known as Igbos in Diaspora (IID) Adamawa state chapter reiterated that the aims of the association is to foster Peace and  unity among host communities.

 

The statement was said by the chairman of an occasion,Chief John Ofoegbunam to investiture a certificate of honour to Alhaji Abubakar Babangida Damare as patron of Igbos in diaspora assembly Adamawa state chapter.

 

“For the avoidance of doubt, the Igbo’s in diaspora wishes to reiterate that the aims and objectives remains the furtherance of peace and unity amongst Igbo’s and the Host community. The association is neither a parallel nor opposition to their various town and local government.” John Said

 

“We are here therefore, to officially present certificate of honour to him. This occasion also afford us the opportunity to interact with you in our search for peaceful cohabitation of all people of Adamawa state.” He added

 

The Deputy Chairman North East of the association, Chief Ofo Eze Nwachukwu

in his own message of unity, revealed that Adamawa are  Peace loving as history recorded the first Igbo Man to sojourned in the land was in 1920 and no history of misunderstanding between them and the host communities.

 

According to him some prominent Sons of Adamawa state got married to the daughters of Igbo Land, a relationship he considered cordial and unending because of peaceful coexistence.

 

“We found Babangida a worthy son and a peace lover who has a good record of both economy and political impetus in uniting people in the State irrespective of religion or tribal different to be our patron.” He said

 

A close associtate of the new patron,Gidado Bello appreciate the Igbos fortifying the unity and peace ties being in existence between the Igbo and the people of the State for entrusting a noble Work to Babangida.

 

Gidado the gesture as remarkable and one of its kind to the people of not only Adamawa state but the country at large.

 

While reading the citation of Usman by the IID secretary, Mr Sunday Chinweze said that Abubakar has a steady grow in both business and political circle of Adamawa state,an icon of social development and humanitarian services are qualities attracted the investiture for certificate of honour as patron of Igbos in diaspora assembly Adamawa state chapter.

 

Damare who is an aide to Executive Governor of Adamawa state,Senator Muhammadu Umaru Jibrilla Bindow appreciate the kindness of Igbo communities in the State and described the award as a booster to support Governor to continue the good Work he is doing in the state.

 

“I feel much humble and significant in more than one way,the award signifies a unity between the Igbo and host communities of Adamawa state.

 

“My fellow Igbos I accept this gesture with all humility and I assure you of my maximum support.

 

“Above all I owe it to my principal, the executive governor of Adamawa state,Bindow Umaru Jibrilla whose steps I’m following to be a man for the Masses, common people who can leverage on my own abilities to go on well In life. Thank you my Governor.” He Said
