WATCH: Omoni Oboli Releases Mockumentary Video Promoting Civic Participation Ahead Of The Upcoming Elections
Award-winning Nigerian actress and film maker, Omoni Oboli has just released a new Mockumentary titled: “The Citizen Vote Evangelist”.
The 8-minute video features the star cast as Modupe, a regular Nigerian who goes about her normal routine urging her friends, colleagues and neighbors on why it matters to cast their vote.
The mockumentary drives home serious issues including; vote trading, voter apathy and electoral integrity but it is infused with humour and delivered in a casual format.
“There is no way they are going to rig all 119,973 polling units,” said Modupe in one of the scenes where she was challenged by a friend on the credibility of the elections.
The video is part of #StepUpTheVote project – an initiative of Gatefield TV and the Open Society Initiative for West Africa – focused on ensuring increased participation and citizen awareness in the upcoming Nigerian 2019 general elections.
