As PDP Shun INEC Stakeholders Meeting

The Independent National Electoral Commission has revealed that the by election into Toto/Nasarawa federal constituency was marred by irregularities, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has revealed.

The resident electoral commissioner of Taraba state supervising Toto/Nasarawa federal House of representatives election, Habu Zarma hinted that the election was marred by over voting, adding that 51 polling units were involved in the irregularities.

He attested that 11 polling units were affected in Toto while 40 polling units were affected in Nasarawa Local Government respectively.

“Some selfish politicians protested the usage of card reader and this resulted to over voting in 51 polling units”,Habu Zarma has said.

He further explained that the inconclusive election was rescheduled for the 1/06/2016, given assurance that the electoral umpire would ensure that the re-run was conducted in a peaceful manner.

Stakeholders across strata of the society were in attendance except the People’s Democratic Party, the PDP.
