Vote For APC, 53 Ethnic Nationalities Elders And Socio-Cultural Groups In Plateau Tells Its People APC By Yakubu Busari, Jos
Elders of ethnic nationalities and socio-cultural group that cut across the three senatorial districts of Plateau state have adopted the candidate of All Progressives Congress, APC, for governorship race urging their people never to vote for PDP flag-bearer.
In a communiqué signed by the stakeholders and elders of ethnic nationalities and socio cultural groups of 53 tribes in the three senatorial Zones of Plateau state made available to journalists urged its people to respect the zoning formula.
The communiqué was signed by the chairman chief Ndam Gambo and others members which include, AVM Abbas Umaru,Chief S.G Mafuyai OON ,Dr Yusuf Musa , Mrs Ruth Penzin ,Chief James Barry ,Elder Musa Garba Izam , Dr Stephen Hirse,Prof.Sylvester shikyil ,Mrs Clara Jibrin, Col.F S Attahiru (rtd),Arc John Alkali,Mr L D Shindai, Ambassador Yahaya Kwande, Prof.Z D Goshit ,Chief D G Fompun, Prof.Longmas Sambo Wapmuk,D.N Fanto ,T S Dalok ,Hon Jale A.Ayuba,Sule Sabo ,Dr luka Fomson, Dr Hittler Dadi and others.
The statement said, the principle of power rotation among the three geo-political group for justice fair-play and unity among the people most be adhere strictly to.
We note and stand by the generally accepted principle of power rotation among the geo-political units in the state as a veritable means of engendering justice, fair play and unity among the peoples of the state.
The statement revealed that in the spirit of equity and justice, power should and must shift to the southern senatorial district of the state, the North central and Northern senatorial Districts having had two terms of 8 year each under Chief Joshua Dariye and Da Jonah David Jang respectively.
“We note with deep concern and consternation the manipulations of the people Democratic Party,PDP, machinery by the present administration to jettisoned this well acceptable principles of rotation of power in favour of a grand design to institute an ethnic/ family dynasty in the state.
“We reject in its totality the Contemptuous machination of a political clique,with the tacit support of the present Government in the state to foist an Ethnic Agenda and /or family dynasty on the state.
“We hereby unanimously give our total support to the only Governorship candidate from the southern senatorial District in the person of Rt .Hon. Simon Lalong of the All Progressives Congress ,APC .
We urge all the good people of Plateau state and other ethnic nationalities resident in the state, irrespective of party affiliations ,to remain focused and continue to resist the emerging oligarchy in the state by massively voting Rt Simon Bako Lalong and professor Sonny Tyoden for the Governor and Deputy Governor of Plateau state.
We are convinced that this our resolved will produce a responsible and responsive pan-Plateau state government sensitive to the needs and aspirations of the generality of our peoples.”
The group also stated; “We further urge the electorates to conduct themselves peacefully during all the coming elections but must ensure that they strongly and jealously protect their votes from the polling units to the collation centres to prevent any form of rigging by desperate politicians who are hell-bent on imposing their sectional will on the state.”
