The Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, will pay a one-day visit to Nasarawa State to witness the graduation ceremony of 1,885 graduates in 40 different fields, including welding, Automobile Engineering, Information Communication Technology (ICT), Tailoring and Design, POP, and amongst other training.
The Executive Director of Wing Commander Abdullahi Ibrahim Vocational and Skills Acquisition Institute, Lafia, Dr.Daniel Ewuga, while briefing the Press, said 1000 people would be graduated.
He said the majority of the grandaunts were sponsored by Bishop Hassan Kukah, He explained that Nasarawa State first lady sponsored 138 people while 167 youth were sponsored by wives of Members of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, 30 youth from an entrepreneur from Ibadan, 10 from Edo State and 99 youth sponsored themselves.
He commended Governor Abdullahi Sule for the adequate support given to the centre in the last two years.
The Director General of NASIRDA Barr .Ibrahim Abdullahi during his speech averred that the Vice President will embark on the ground breaking and foundation laying of the headquarters of NASIRDA.
He however averred that the groundbreaking would be the building of a “One Stop shopping centre that will usher in a rebrand and revitalize the economy.
He added that the “One Stop Investment centre” He further declared that the State was one of the most competitive States.
The State Commissioner for Agriculture and Water Resources, Hon. Iyimoga Oyige added that the State Governor during the visit of Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima will distribute additional 2 Mahindra tractors to Load Government Chairmen to boost food security as well to inculcate renewed hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“Saying Nasarawa State was blessed with fertile land and was rated first in Beniseed, Rice, and Cassava production, while others called Governor Abdullahi Sule a farmer-friendly Governor
He in addition said more than 10,000 bags of rice would be distributed to Local Government Chairmen.
The Commissioner of Humanitarian Services, Special Duties, and Non-Governmental Organization (NGO’s), Hon. Magrete Elayo Itake said her ministry will tomorrow distribute relief materials to victims of the 2024 flood numbering 1885 victims would be supported.
She maintained that N3bn was for the reconstruction of roads and bridges by center field.
