He said security remains the primary function of every government and that the administration of Muhammadu Buhari will surely secure the lives and properties of Nigerians.
The Vice-president who spent over three hours in the State visiting sites of the twin bomb blast and victims of the blast, also pay homage to the Emir of Gombe said “we will definitely stamp out Book Haram”.
According to him, his visit to the state was a directive from President Buhari to spend the Sallah in Gombe to commiserate with the people and show them that the Federal Government was with them in their sad moment.
He also commended the people of the State for their bravery and determination to succeed despite the sad attack that claimed so many lives. He said this was evident when saw many people in the market still going about their business.
Earlier before the arrival of the Vice-President, Governor Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo of Gombe State had gone round to commiserate with the victims of the blast after observing the Eid-el-Fitr prayers.
Governor Dankwambno also condemned the deadly attack, urging the perpetrators to lay down their arms and embrace peace.
