In some of the local government visited by the state deputy governor Alhaji Samaila Yombe Dabai within the week, it was gathered that some verification committee are yet to complete the exercise.
As gathered by this medium, over 70% of the workers are yet to be verified and as such didn’t collect their salary before the Sallah. The Local government staffs, who expressed their concern with the slowness of the verification exercise, called on the state government to as a matter of urgency direct the verification committee to hasten effort to ensure that every local government staff receive salary, as some of them expressed concerns over the hardships they and their families and dependants are facing due to their inability to collect their salaries owing to the fact that they have not been verified.
Meanwhile, while addressing local government workers in Arewa local government council, the state deputy governor Alhaji Samaila Yombe Dabai, informed the staffs to be patient as the state government is doing its best to ensure everyone collect his or her salary, adding that the exercise was introduced in order to flush out ghost workers in the state.
Universalreporters247.com findings reveals that they local government workers are complaining of underpayment, which according to them, the highest paid is receives Six Thousand Naira only (6000) which is applicable to every worker in the local government ranging from grade level 03 to 09.
Universalreporter247.com also observed that in most of the local government areas visited, a health personal on grade level 09, receives the maximum salary of Six Thousand Naira, which some staff has described as injustice and deprivation of their right in local government administration thereby calling on the state governor to look into the problems.
