It’s on record that after 20 years of an alleged leadership of impunity by a certain old man of over 54 years who served as Youth President (Youth Chairman) of the Umudibia Nekede Autonomous Community, now the youths of the area have collectively rolled away from the bull by the horn.
Therefore, as part of their continued efforts in community growth and youths development for peace and progress, the entire youths of Umudibia Nekede Autonomous Community in Owerri West LGA of Imo State, under the aegis of Umudibia Youths Organization, UYO, have officially inaugurated their leadership on the interim.
The epoch-making event which took place on Monday, Jan.3rd, 2022 at Umudibia Community Primary School recorded a very huge success as the youths who trooped out in their numbers expressed satisfaction with the free and fair manner in which the Interim Management Committee, IMC, members of Umudibia Nekede Youths Organization were appointed and immediately sworn into power to serve.
Those inaugurated at the breakfast General Meeting of Umudibia Youths were the 9-man Committee who in their respective voices accepted the offer for effective leadership service delivery.
The Interim Management Committee members comprised of the youths from the four (4) towns in Umudibia Autonomous Community which includes: “Umuokomoche , Umuerim , Umuofocha, and Umuokoto”.
The Nine (9)-Man IMC members are: “1. The Chairman, Comr.Prince Godsheart Hilary, from Umuokoche,
2. The Secretary, Comr.Onyebuchi Aririguzo, from Umuofocha,
3. Comr. Chinonso G. Anosike, from Umu-Erim, as Member,
4. Comr. Chibueze Onumara, from Umuokoto, as Member,
5. Comr.Solomon O. Osuigwe , Umuokoche, as Member,
6. Comr.Paul Okereafor,from Umuofocha, as Member,
7. Comr. Okechukwu Chukwuocha, from Umuokoche, as Member,
8. Comr. Ugochukwu S. Nwaneri, from Umuokoto, and
9. Comr. Nzenwa Anthony Nzenwa, from Umuerim, as Member.
In his acceptance speech, the Interim Management Committee, IMC, Chairman of Umudibia Youths Organization, UYO, Comr. Prince Godsheart Hilary expressed delight for the offer jointly bestowed upon him to serve in the capacity as the Youth Chairman.
Prince Godsheart, while addressing the youths vowed to uplift the growth, peace, and unity of the area.
“I know our major problems bordering the youths of Umudibia Nekede and I have the native sense, willpower, and the wisdom to deliver effectively. I only need your collective supports to succeed. Days of impunity are history. Now is the time for the youths to break through in all ramifications. Under my watch as the UYO Chairman, I shall fight against insecurity and ensure stability in our community”, Prince Hilary submitted.
The IMC Chairman of UYO, Comr. Godsheart, therefore appealed to those appointed to serve with him to embrace peace and unity, even as he promised to carry all the members of the organization along.
Adding his voice, the UYO IMC Secretary, Comr.Onyebuchi Aririguzo, thanked the members of the youths organization for conducting a successful inauguration at the breakfast General Meeting that brought the 9-Man Committee Members as leaders of the youths for the interests of the Umudibia Youths Organization, added that his leadership as a scribe would never fail.
Comr.Aririguzo, therefore enjoined the youths of Umudibia Nekede Autonomous Community to remain committed towards the growth of the organization and charged them to be law-abiding.
Our News Reporter who witnessed the UYO IMC inauguration exercise commended the youths for their cordial relationship, mutual understanding, laudable cooperation, and peaceful coexistence amongst them.
Note that the 9-Man IMC members were appointed and sworn-in by the mandates of the youths to pilot their affairs until an election will be conducted for the youth organization.
