The Jigawa state and local government contributory pension board have paid two hundred retirees the sum of N331, 698,679.62 as their pension terminal benefits.
This was disclosed by the Executive Secretary Jigawa State Pension Board Malam Kamilu Aliyu Musa shortly after the payment in Dutse.
He said the Jigawa state government has paid a total of N199,119,477.02 to 121 people who retire from service at the state level in which out of that number 47 people are staff of the state government and 52 from the local government while the remaining 22 are local education staffs.
For the death benefit, only 15 people were recorded from the state who died at retirement age and 14 from local government while LEA staffs are 18 in all a total of N113,636,708.32 million was paid as death benefits.
The secretary explained that for those who died after retirement before five years they were nine persons at the state level, six from local government and the LEA which is a total of 20 people that were paid with totaling the sum of N17,692,763,.19 as death pension benefits balance.
The secretary explained further that the total terminal benefits paid in October 2021 to 83 people at the state level are N148,864,332.56 while 72 persons from the local government received the sum of N101,537,162.04 and LEA staff which are 45 people received a total of N81,297,185.02
The secretary stated that a total of 200 people who retired from service received the sum N331, 698,679.62 million Naira as terminal benefits which was disbursed to them by the state government as retirement terminal benefits.
