Tribunal Judgement: Stakeholders In Taraba Holds Divergent Opinions

Following the judgment of an Election Tribunal court sitting in Abuja that ousted Governor Darius Ishaku on Saturday is drawing the attention of many stakeholders in the state.

Darius on a press conference in Jalingo said the court in Abuja was not fair in their ruling,they left the main issue and capitalised over what is not the main issue.

 

He stressed that the tribunal didn’t gave him any mandate, they don’t have any right to collect it because his mandate was given to him by Taraba people and therefore heads to appeal court  to seek for readdress.

Chairman Inter party advisory council , Alh. Mohammadu Dara sees the verdict as a success story for all the people of the state aligning it to be a victory of Democracy over autocracy.

Dara who is from PPA said all the opposition parties in the state believe in the political ideologies of Senator Jummai Aisha Alhassan and the state will be witnessing major developments from all phase of life.

Another Elder statesman who is the chairman of Taraba state concern indigenes, Alhaji Sambo Tukur appreciates what the tribunal did regarding it an end to total impunity of PDP

Tukur who insisted that nobody voted for Darius ,that was the Tribunal call it a wasted votes because of total impunity showcased by PDP during the last elections.

“Darius did not had a single votes during the last elections, that was why the verdict counted against him to say that he had a wasted votes, our courts are now there to hear the cry of the down trodden are given us confidence to trust them”. Tukur said

A former Deputy Majority leader in the Taraba state House, Hon. Oliver Suleiman who represented Karim Lamido constituency under People Democratic party Happily said:

“The removal of Darius is the sacking of a wicked Leader when out of power the people rejoices but when in power the people cry.

He therefore asked the people of the state to celebrate in peace and harmony

He also advice the former Governor not to waste the state resources by appealing the case that did not favor him in the tribunal.
