A lightning strike has killed two young men in Ndegwu a community in Owerri West Local Government of Imo State.
Following a media interaction with a close relative of the deceased who died yesterday, Monday, October 10th, 2022 at Ndegwu in Owerri West LGA of Imo State, news had it that the youth until their sudden demise were members of the Assemblies of God Church at Ndegwu.
It was gathered that a thunderstorm struck the two young men to death while it was raining yesterday, Monday, October 10th, 2022.
The two youths were working as hired labourers (builders) at Umuogwuta village in Ndegwu.

One Mr.Emeka Gerald Joe Mbah, (late) 39 years old from Umuejekaubi Umuahum Ndegwu, married with one little daughter, while his colleague and best friend, Mr.Chigbumkpa Ernest Odionyenma, 36 years old, (late) from Umuadi Umuogwuta in Ndegwu Community, also married with children.
The thunderstorm struck and killed both of them instantly, while a few of them working as labourers at the site fell to the ground and were unconscious, but minutes later they regained consciousness and strength and woke up alive, according to the information available.
Details concerning the identity of the man (owner of the building) who contacted them for the work were not known to the press at the time of filing this report.
Meanwhile, all efforts to contact the Imo Police Command Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Mr. Mike Abbatam, to confirm the news proved worthless as his telephone line was unreachable.
