Total Lockdown In Nasarawa Local Govt Over Death Of Nasarawa Lawmaker, Who Died Of COVID-19

The expanded Security and executive meeting has resolved to lockdown Nasarawa Local Government Area of Nasarawa State to avoid community spread of COVID-19 Pandemic.

 

The Honorable Commissioner of Information,Culture and Tourism,Comrade Dogo Shammah has said.

 

The Commissioner explained that the State Government would take necessary steps to ensure that citizenry of Nasarawa State use face mask latest tomorrow.

 

He further said all social gathering including marriage and wedding ceremony,clubbing, praying in mosque and church are banned till further notice.

 

He however stated that the partial lockdown in the State started from 8;00pm to 6;00am is still effect.

 

The Commissioner of Police, Bola Longe revealed that the State Government suspended the lockdown in Karu Local Government.

 

“We suspended lockdown and replace it with curfew from 8;00pm to 6;00am,appealing to the public to do the needful by abiding to the directive of constituted authorities.

 

The Emir of Lafia and Chairman Council of Chiefs, Justice Sidi Bage said intensify effort would be taken to curtail the spread of COVID-19.

 

The Chairman of Karu Local Government,Samuel Akala said the Local Government been the gateway to the Federal Capital Territory lift the restriction as major markets remain closed.

 

He assured the people that the Local Government would intensify effort in creating awareness campsign.

 

The Commissioner for Health, Pharmacy Ahmed Yahaya said the State Government has received five monitors from Access bank as part of their contribution to fight COVID-19.
