Three Policemen Feared Killed As Gunmen Attack Bank, Police Station In Taraba

Gunmen on Friday night attacked a First Bank branch and a police station in Karim Lamido Local Government Area of Taraba State.
Reports indicate that the gunmen engaged police officers and members of a council vigilante group in a gun battle.
Vanguard Newspaper reports that three policemen were killed and others injured while the police station was destroyed.

The gunmen, who struck at about 9:00 p.m. on Friday are believed to have made away with money from the bank. None of them was arrested.
The Taraba police commissioner told the BBC that they are investigating the attack.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack and Taraba, in North East Nigeria, is not among the three states under emergency rule in the region.
