The group raised alarm over the sparked of killings and land grabbing by the Fulani terrorist militia group in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State , urging security to intervene and save the lives , properties of vulnerable farmers.
The National publicity secretary, Mushere Youth Movement, on Thursday, 7th August, 2025, at JMD Hall, Jos, Plateau State, Comrade Kutyil Gashion Nahum confirmed in a world press conference the dastardly act of maiming, kidnapping, and raping of women by the suspected Fulani terrorist group operating under the influence of land grabbing.
He lamented that the Mushere nation is bleeding with sorrow as they are encouraged to speak the truth by calling on the federal and state governments to take urgent action on the atrocities being committed against the peace-loving people.
According to him, they are here under the grave circumstance that compelled them to seek the attention of the local and international communities over the deteriorating insecurity in Bokkos LGA and parts of Plateau that poses a serious threat to the regional peace and stability.
Nahum disclosed that, recently, before embarking on a twist of history to wreak havoc on innocent Mushere speaking natives of West Africa, they started reeling off fake and malicious accusations which were circulated by some individuals within the militia group of Fulani extraction seeking to distort the truth and accusing the Mushere people of their unfounded push for genocide.
He stressed that their unfounded narratives serve as a pretext to justify a continuous campaign of mayhem against the natives, as the Mushere youth movement calls for immediate action to fish out these terrorist groups operating in connivance with some bad eggs within the security agencies.
Comrade Kutyil Gashion Nahum in text explained further that their voices should be heard through the international communities, the media, including the security agencies, as concerned stakeholders about the systematic violence amounting to ethnic cleansing, land grabbing against the Mushere nation.
‘We urge Plateau youths and the peace-loving citizens to unite in confronting this threat, pointing out that Mushere people are an agrarian society who engage in subsistence farming and animal husbandry.
‘For generations, the Mushere people lived peacefully alongside neighboring communities by accommodating Fulani foreign migrants without any recent mayhem.
As Mushere people, we accommodate and provide land to settlers for farming and grazing ground for the herders, which was motivated through fostering harmony between our people and other ethnic groups.
However, in the aftermath of generosity as the Mushere people, our community had continued to suffered relentless breached of trust which manifested in stealing of farm produced, cattle rustling, deliberate destruction of farmlands and food stored, acts sexual violence against women, kidnapping and abduction to collect ransom including killings of natives where women and children are not spared.
Comrade Kutyil Gashion listed the kidnapping and murdering of the following: Pa Joshua Mutkut, acting Miskaham the second class of Mushere , Mrs Saratu Micah kidnapped in Kopmur and killed even after paying ransom, a breastfeeding mother was not spared, including the PDP ward chairman was ambushed and killed.
The recent tragic fresh attacks in Bokkos LGA of Mushere, there were estimated over 20 persons confirmed dead, while some are still missing from the onslaughts perpetuated by a group of Fulani terrorists.
However, over 200 villages under the Mushere chiefdom are still operating on the watch list of Fulani terrorist militia sneaking into the night, killing at will, and escaping back to their hideout without reprisals.
We are appealing for the deployment of security agencies to curb the menace of these terrorist militia groups under the guise of land grabbing and raising the flag of Bauchi in Plateau communities.
