Local Authorities in Plateau State, North-Central Nigeria have cried out that terrorists have surrounded two Local Government Areas of Langtang North and Langtang South and have concluded plans to launch deadly attacks on the natives.

The Council, chairman of Langtang North, Laven Ubandoma, who raised the alarm while addressing journalists in Jos, the state capital said they had spotted the terrorists and pleaded with the government and the security agents to do everything possible to stop the planned attack on innocent citizens.

The Executive Chairman of Langtang North Local Government Council, Hon Ubandoma Joshua Laven also expressed fear over the influx of these foreign mercenaries to plans to attack Tarok land through Wase LGA.

He made this disclosure at a world press conference in Jos last Friday, that intelligence gathering revealed that these terrorists are already camped in some strategic settlement preparing to launch their mayhem.

Ubandoma Joshua said, the security, deploy in Langtang North LGA have confirmed the plan of the attack using Wase LGA Town and Kadarko district and they’re calling on the security agencies against the rules of engagement.

According to him, sometime in February 2020, the people of Tarok Nation have already submitted their weapons to the security agencies assuming that peace had returned, but with the recent development, we are completely in disarray over the action of the federal government.

We are appealing to the Nigerian military not to take sides, but to support the people of Tarok Nation by ensuring that these terrorists are chased out of their hiding camps for peace to reign.

We are calling on the United Nations and the world to know that Tarok people are peaceful people, they’ve been invading our settlements in spite of security agents deployed to safeguard the areas.

Laven employed the security agencies to join hands with the natives to these terrorists out from where they camped because nobody is happy with the insecurity in the country.

He frowned at the way and manner the killings of innocent Plateau people in Riyom, Bassa, Jos North, took place where Christians were maimed, killed in their homes, and no single statement came from the Federal government.

Hon Ubandoma Joshua says,” the action demonstrated by the minister of the federal republic of Nigeria clearly shows some people are second class citizens.

He explained further, that the security agencies in Nigeria are overwhelmed with the current happening, but as chairmen and chief security officers of its LGAs, they are calling on the security agencies to repel the terrorist so as not to go after their people who are vulnerable and defenseless.

The Chairman decried that 19 years ago the Tarok Nation came under attack, “so we are saying come to our rescue because terrorists were sighted moving towards Wase LGA in preparation to attack Tarok land.

However, he noted when this ugly attack happens the security agencies even with their arms and ammunition but do abandon them.

Hon Ubandoma Joshua vowed that any attempt to invade Tarok land would be resisted, please don’t send us those security officers that are coming to cage us and allow terrorist to come and finish us.

He reiterated that security reports reveal a plan to attack Tarok land,  but we are saying don’t deploy overzealous security that might end up using their gun against us.

He said, “We have received intelligence reports that terrorists are planning to attack our people in Langtang North and Langtang South LGAs. We are calling on security operatives to come and collaborate with the people and stem the tide.

“We have been on our toes since we received this intelligence report. For days, our people have not been sleeping. They have been keeping Vigil; we appeal to government to act now.

“We are calling on President Muhammadu Buhari to act swiftly, and ensure that our people are protected as every life matters.

“Just as he acted during the attack on commuters in Jos recently, where helicopters were flying within the metropolis, there was a rapid response; a similar action should be taken to avert any unfortunate incident.

“We also want to appeal to security agencies not to be biased while discharging their constitutional duty. They should understand that their responsibility is to secure every citizen of this country, so we are urging them to be professional in doing their job,” he stressed.

The Chairman advised the GOC,STF, NSCDC to protect the lives and properties and that they should stop taking sides, but to ensure fairness to all citizens because Tarok Nation has been placed under red alert with the purported plan on the ground to attack them .

Attacks on the Plateau have continued unabated despite efforts of security operatives, with killings of farmers, travelers and the destruction of homes and farmlands.

The situation has placed communities on red alert to avoid being taken unaware which is the reason for the alarm raised by the Lantang North Council Chairman who said terrorists have invaded the area and are about to launch an attack on the people.

The Council Chairman claimed that security agents have also confirmed the report , while calling for the protection of unarmed civilians who cannot defend themselves.
