The Acting Chairman of the People Democratic Party, PDP, Hon Amos Gombi has disclosed that the Supreme Court judgement wasn’t the true reflection of polling units result sheet of the Plateau State governorship seat but a conspiracy of the Federal government to forcefully take PDP victory because governor’s Simon Bako Lalong didn’t scored the majority votes cast in the 2019 general polls
He said, the Supreme Court judgement was a clear demonstration that Nigeria democracy is under a serious threat from the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC, which is an indication the country is under siege and militocracy.
Reacting to the judgment judgement on phone, Gombi said the judiciary had failed this country completely.
According to him, our democracy is at the verge of collapsing since the APC came on board, we began to see judgment that didn’t tally with the reality on ground, as people mandate is being truncated in Nigeria.
He said, the members of our jurist who are support to be the custodian of law to deliver clean judgement to promote healthy competition have left millions of people in doubt with the recent judgement obtain in Adamawa state, a House of representative member election was quash over alleged lying on oath because he was from the PDP but the Plateau State Governor Simon Bako Lalong did the same and nothing was done about it.
Amos Gombi explained further that the Federal government had inflicted pain to voters in Plateau State by imposing an unpopular candidate on us, our state is PDP, and we can’t believe that the truth is change with lies.
He maintained that the governor Simon Lalong lied in his form CF001 which is show that he should have been disqualifies completely from contesting the seat but the election tribunals uphold his victory likewise the appeal court. We are finish in Nigeria; this democracy is under a critical threat.
He called on their supporters to remain law abiding citizen and be calm not to carry law into their hands, but frown that the judgment didn’t reflect the true position of voters in the 2019 general elections in Plateau State.
