Stop Politicking And Desist From Crying Wolf Youth Group Tell Politicians By Yakubu Wuyep,Jos

Plateau state citizens yesterday has made a passionate appeal  to politicians in the  State to concentrate on motions of politics and politicking and desist from crying wolf where there is none so that the fragile peace in the State is not scuttled.

One of the  residents  also called upon the stakeholders to use the election time to soberly reflect on the kind of governance they are interested in having and shun arguments that breed disunity in the State.

Barr. Redzie Jugo, the convener of the Coalition of Young Redemption II Appointees, CYRA gave the charge yesterday in Jos while addressing journalists on issues of elections and candidates in the State.

He challenged the electorates to go for politicians with clout, dexterity, competent and commitment with deep understanding of what the work entails and is ready to perform the duties and demands of the offices.

Jugo also reiterated his group’s support for governor Jonah Jang’s ambition to go into the Senate as well as the Senator Gyang Pwajok’s ambition to take over from Jang as the governor of the State.

The convener however,  lamented that many whose posters are all over the cities of the State have been in governance for many years without much impact and urged the youths to support credible youths with qualities of leadership.

According to him, “We need to eschew politics of bitterness as Plateau State is for us to cherish, protect and project through transformational leadership.

“We want to advise aspirants to concentrate on motions of politics and politicking and desist from crying wolf where there is none. We call on citizens of Plateau State to lead the debate on the need to have competence and avoid unnecessary bickering.

“We wish to call on all residents in Plateau State to use this election time to soberly reflect on the kind of governor and governance that we are interested in having. We ask that we shun arguments that suggest that a person’s ethnicity or his senatorial district is enough to confer competence to him or her.”

On the candidates, he stressed, “the governor has groomed promising youths and progressive youths in Plateau State are calling on the patriotic, vibrant, detribalized, intelligent, humble, committed and promising leader, GNS Pwajok to answer the clarion call to contest for the office of the governor.”
