Stop Parading Yourself As Plateau State President Of NULGE –Comrade Rasaq Lawal Advises Samson Mafuyai

The Plateau State Chapter of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE, has urged Comrade Sams on Mafuyai to urgently step down for the interest of peaceful coexistence amongst the Union members as his tenure of office had expired in November 2018.

 

The state caretaker at the National expresses worry over the indiscriminate extension of tenure rocking the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE, Comrade Ibrahim Kaleem led Exco, the Plateau state chapter of the Union has vowed to end the eleven (11) years of Comrade Samson Mafuyai.

 

Following the judgment of National Industrial Court in Akure, Ondo state capital, by Justice Galadima that  dissolved the leadership of NULGE by constituting a fresh Caretaker committee led by Comrade Nanpak Miri Njomiri to take over the affairs pending when an election is conducted, the National General Secretary, Comrade Rasaq O. Lawal explained that in conformity with the constitutional provision terminated the leadership of Comrade Samson Mafuyai led state Exco which tenure expired in November 2018.

 

The judgment read and described the delegates conference held in Akure which gave the extension office of principal officers of the 36 states as illegal which brought 1/3 of the delegates endorsed it and others stage a walk out of the AOB raised by few members who are seeking for tenure elongation.

 

The state interim committee under, Comrade Larry Gowon is asking Comrade Samson Mafuyai to stop parading himself as the state president because of the judgment obtained in IMO state had nullified the National delegate’s decision held at Akure calling him to respect the constitution the Union for the interest of all.

 

According to him, the 2016 constitution of the Union had frown at elongation or extension to a period of six (6) years ,the four (4) tenure prescribed in the constitution of the Union as tenure of office of President elected at the state branch of NULGE ( including Imos state branch ) unless upon a former resolution that is dully registration with registrar with the trade Union for the purpose of elongation of the tenure of the office of the Exco .

 

Also read ,A declaration that any decision ,directive or resolution by any person ,officer’s ,organ or body in NULGE ,purporting to elongation or to extend to a period of six years to that of four years constitutional tenure of office of the state officer and members of the state Exco of the Union as prescribed in the Union constitution is illegal ,unconstitutional ,null void and of no effect .
