ARISE News Anchor Somtochukwu Christelle Maduagwu has been killed in an Abuja robbery.
ARISE TV announced her death, stating that she was killed during an armed robbery at her residence in the Katampe area of Abuja.
Maduagwu, aged 29, tragically lost her life in the early hours of Monday, September 29, 2025. The Nigeria Police have since launched an investigation into the incident.
In a statement, ARISE News described her as “a vibrant voice on air, a professional lawyer, and a supportive friend”, noting that her death has left the entire organization in shock.
The management extended condolences to her family, friends, and colleagues, calling for the immediate arrest and prosecution of those responsible for her death.
Born on December 26, 1995, Maduagwu is survived by her parents, siblings, extended family, and friends.
