Soldier Fights Policeman For Stopping Him From Taking One-Way

A Soldier, whose identity was yet to be unveiled as at press time, has been captured in a viral video engaging a policeman, who is a member of the Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences (Enforcement) Unit, for stopping the bus in which he was riding for violating the one-way rule.

According to available information, this occurred on Carter Bridge, Apongbon, Lagos State on Wednesday morning.

The soldier was said to have stepped out of the vehicle violating the one-way law to challenge the policeman for stopping the commercial bus in which he was.

He attempted to disarm the policeman.

This led to an exchange of force between the two.

Other policemen and Soldiers, including that of the Nigerian Air Force, stepped in to separate the two.

At some point, one of the policemen in the Task force released a tear gas.

Reacting to the development, the spokesman of the Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, said the matter had been reported to the authorities of the Nigerian Army.

In a post on his Twitter handle, Hundeyin tweeted: “The soldier, who was a passenger, directed the driver to drive against traffic.

“The policemen stopped the vehicle and the soldier took offense that the vehicle he boarded was stopped.

“He, therefore, decided to attack the armed policeman.

“The Army have been informed.”
