‘Slaughterbots’

Since the advent of technology, everything is gradually getting less in all spheres of our daily lives. Can you imagine a dead person who was gone over thirty years ago react, if woken up today, seeing us live a lifeless and tech dependent life? I guess such a person will be speechless to see us cook with flameless remoted stove! Some 30 years ago, could anyone think that there will be a time when phones and computers would be wireless, that our tires would be tubeless and that our money transactions could be cashless propelled?

So, it is not a big deal seeing cars -keyless, or our today’s ladies -braless, -pantless, -‘hairless’, our men -heartless, leaders -shameless, etc.

Thus, in less than five years, our cars will be driverless just as our planes will be pilotless?

Three days ago, Tesla (an American automaker, energy storage company championing the driver less vehicles) announced her new mass-market passenger vehicle –Tesla Semi truck to be available soon.

Sometime this year, the world woke up to the debate; ‘would you fly on a trip with a pilotless plane’? I belonged to the group who screamed ‘Not in my life’! Not many of us realized that we fly pilotless planes regularly!  The truth is the use of commercial and military drone’s technology for pilotless plane has been in existence and is in regular use. The most common type of passenger aircraft in the world, made by Boeing and Airbus, rely heavily on computers that do much of the pilots’ work. Auto-landing as well as conventional auto-pilot have been in place for decades, so what are we talking about!

Ever heard of iDollators? A lot of men today turn their backs on marriage and traditional masculine values for a quiet, noncompetitive life. They call it synthetic love -marrying a Doll! The doll has all the attributes of sexual satisfactions you can ever think of and it can be modelled to your most beautiful dream girl. She would be covered in artificial skin made of silicone, so she’s soft, high-end, anatomically correct—even equipped with tongues to do the ‘thing’!

Davecat with his mistress, Elena (left) and wife Sidore (right). Davecat lives with his wife and mistress, both dolls, and thinks synthetic partners are ideal for those who don’t want to deal with humans’ inconsistencies.

Hear Masayuki Ozaki who bounced back when the spark went out of his marriage -by starting a new romance with a rubber sex doll he swears is the love of his life.

The ultra-realistic silicone dummy, called Mayu, shares his bed under the same roof as his wife and teenage daughter in Tokyo.

Ozaki, 45, said: “After my wife gave birth, we stopped having sex and I felt a deep sense of loneliness.”

“But the moment I saw Mayu in the showroom, it was love at first sight.”

“My wife was furious when I first brought Mayu home. These days she puts up with it, reluctantly.”

My daughter shares Mayu’s clothes.”

Ozaki, who works as a physiotherapist, takes his doll out on dates in a wheelchair and dresses her in wigs, sexy clothes and jewelry.

In all these, my biggest fear is the killer Robots. A fully autonomous weapon, also known as “killer robots,” The Robot would be able to select and engage targets without human intervention.

Just few days ago, a three minute clip was circulated on the social media to underline the reality of ‘Killer Robot’. The video, entitled ‘Slaughterbots’, starts with an enthusiastic CEO on stage unveiling a new product to an excited crowd. Instead of a new smartphone of consumer tech innovation that the audience would have expected, he reveals a miniturised drone that uses facial recognition to identify its target before administering a small yet lethal explosive blast to the skull.

On another flip, the film shows the weapons quickly falling into the hands of terrorists who used them to slaughter people.

Precursors to these weapons, such as armed drones, are being developed and deployed by nations including China, Israel, South Korea, Russia, the United Kingdom and the United States.

I don’t wish I witness seeing robots go down the streets, killing people. But then, again, this is today, the present time where some intelligent people thinkless of the present but the future. On a palm, the world could just be destroyed with a command. It will happen if it is not regulated and that’s for sure. In the Artificial Intelligence world, -Dream it, make it happen.

Though at first, I was afraid, but my hope remains endless because my brother, an elder in the Jehovah’s Witnesses’ organization said that Jehovah will not allow senseless men to seamlessly destroy this world before Armageddon.

For that, am fearless.
