Shocker: Nasarawa Deputy Governor Accused Of Short Changing Outcome Of Councillorship Election Of Galadima Ward

Wise men say is never over until it over, This is exactly the trepidation the elected Councillor of Galadima Ward of Doma Local Government Council in the just concluded primaries of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Hon. Mohammed Oboshi Ali is passing through.

 

Hon. Oboshi beat his opponents with a wider margin and was issued a certificate of return by the State Secretariat of the party to represent his ward which is the electoral ward of the Deputy Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe.

 

According to a reliable source, The winner of the primary election,Hon. Mohammed Oboshi Ali polled 432 votes, Hon Jonah D.Ogah polled 225 votes and Francis Adeka scored 104 votes.

 

It was gathered that the State Deputy Governor was hell-bent to swap the name of the winner of the primary election in favor of his Personal Assistant, Jonah Ogah.

 

Impeccable source from the Democracy House along Shendam road as at about 7:41 Pm today (Thursday) confirmed that an attempt was made by the power that is to short change the winner of the 432 lawful votes in favor of the second winner.

 

As at press time, The genuine winner had been presented with a certificate of return.

 

Only time shall tell what would be the fate of the power that be ahead of the forthcoming Local Government Council election slated for October 6, 2021.

 

The Chairman, Nasarawa State Independent Electoral Commission, Barrister Wandai Ayuba Usman could not be reached for comment, The Public Relations Officer of NASIEC in a telephone interview debunked the allegation of any attempt to swap names of candidates.

 

He confirmed that the electoral umpire has no right to swap names of candidates rather is the responsibility of all the political parties to do so not NASIEC, Said the PRO.
