A horrific incident has shaken the community of Nnewichi, Nnewi, in Anambra state, as three siblings were found dead and stored in a deep freezer in their home. The victims, aged 5, 7, and 9, were identified as Ejezie Chikaima Daviana, Ejezie Chimziterem Dominica, and Ejezie Chimdilim David.
According to reports, the siblings’ mother, Mrs. Chikazor Ejezie, a lecturer and nurse, had left the house to take an examination, leaving the children alone. Upon her return, she found the door open and the children missing. A search party was formed, and the children’s bodies were eventually discovered in the deep freezer.
The father of the deceased siblings, Mr. Ejezie Udochukwu, who is based in Irrua, Edo State, was notified of the incident on Saturday, February 1. He rushed to Nnewichi and confirmed the tragic event.
“It’s devastating,” Mr. Udochukwu said. “The kids were eating when the assailants stormed the house. We found traces of food in plates that were abandoned. The corpses have been deposited at a morgue, and we reported the matter to the police.”
The Anambra State Police Command has confirmed the incident and launched a full investigation. The Commissioner of Police, CP Nnaghe Itam, has ordered the transfer of the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Awka for a thorough investigation.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, stated that the police are working to unravel the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
