Shocker: Abuja Electricity Distribution Company In Nasarawa State Spends Large Amount Of Money In Fueling  Generator(Photos)

This revelation coming from the Area Managers office, Abuja Electricity Distribution Company, Lafia Regional office would shock you, the discovery is an indication that there is no effort to improve power supply in the state. Universalreporters247.com can authoritatively state that Lafia Regional office of the distribution company is spending a huge amount of resource to fuel generator.

In Lafia, Akwanga, Keffi, Doma, Nasarawa-Eggon, Obi and Wamba the distribution company relied on generators for more than 12 hours daily to carry its official activities.

A visit by universalreporters247.com to their offices in these areas showed that most of their operation which includes; collecting money for monthly billing from customers and other administrative duties were facilitated by generators, One of the staff of AEDC in their office in Lafia who claimed anonymity on why they are using generator, said it was because there was no light.

Cross section of customers while reacting on the matter, expressed dissatisfaction over total outage even in the premises of the company.

Vast of the customers expressed regret how a whole company that is supposed to distribute electricity to its customers is now using a generator.

According to Abdullahi Isa, a resident of Lafia has this to say, if a distribution company that supposed to be providing electricity is now using a generator, then there is no hope for their customers.

“What hope do we have since your savior is in need of help more”. then you, how will he or she saves you,” he added.

Bala Audu and Hanatu Emmanuel residents of Akwanga and Doma respectively called on the Federal Government to take over the distribution of electricity because the distribution companies have failed.

The duo said that despite the fact that electricity supply is very poor, the company still sent huge bills to customers and disconnect indiscriminately.

Customers protested in Doma, Wamba, Andaha in Akwanga, Shabu in Lafia, Obi amongst other that communities in Nasarawa State are wallowing in total blackout.

It was gathered that majority of ministries and board relies on generators; the blackout was extended to most of the boarding Secondary Schools including Government College, Obi, while Government College Doma has no provision for electricity.

The power outage was also experienced in the palaces cut across the length and breadth of the state.

All efforts to gets an official response from AEDC failed as the Area

Manager of Lafia Office Samaila Jibril was said to have traveled out of the state and the next person standing for him, Mrs Edna in telephone conversation declined to comment.
