Senator Suleiman Adokwe representing Nasarawa South senatorial district has condemned the demolition of a private radio station, Breeze F.M 99.9 by Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura.
He described the action as an affront to the existence of media outfit in the state, the chairman senate committee on Information; Suleiman Adokwe hinted this when he paid a visit to the media outlet during the weekend in Lafia.
Saying due process was not followed for the demolition, adding that a responsible government would ensure that there is free flow of Information without any hindrances or itches.
“Imagine an enterprise that accommodate young persons as it workforce but was demolished without following the right channel”.
“The enterprise also assisted in creating Job opportunity for the teeming nation instead of allowing such to grow but the structure and facilities were destroyed”.
” This single act is an injustice and suppression of the press, and I condemn it in it totality, attesting that the ruling party, the All Progressives Party is an irrational party”.
He however said Nasarawa project should be a project that would accommodates all and sundry.
He commended the People’s Democratic Party for the passage of the Free of Information Bill, Act 2011 into law.
