He gave assurance to Nigerians that the 2015 general election will take place as scheduled by the Independent National Electoral Commission as he said the Senate will give all the necessary supports and cooperation to the success of democracy in Nigeria.
Senator Sirika appealed to Nigerians to dismiss any rumour of proposed forming of interim government even as he said the  Senate President David Mark has given  assurance of conducting free and fair election in the country.
In a related development Senator Alkali Jajere representing Yobe North Senatorial District said Nigerians will resist any attempt by group or individual calling for the postponement of March 28 and April 11, 2015 general election in the country.
