Over 11 aspirant has show an interest to run for gubernatorial position under the platform of People Democratic Party (PDP) in Plateau state.
A Senator representing plateau southern senatorial Zone, Sen Mainasara Victor Lar has officially declared aspiration to joined the governorship race.
Lar, a two term House of Representatives member representing Langtang North federal constituency and a former governorship candidate of ANPP, disclosed this recently
that contrary to speculations, the incumbent Governor Jonah David Jang will not impose any candidate from plateau North senatorial zone in the forthcoming PDP primaries in the state.
The right to contest is everybody’s right. Governor Jonah Jang will not produce another aspirant from the Northern zone, but any body from the Northern zone is free to run.
Lar who storm the party secretariat in company of major PDP stakeholders in the state were he was received by the vice Chairman Yusuf Tokkit of central zone of the Party on behalf of the state chairman, Mr Raymond Dabo, who was unavoidably absent..
Revealed that his political journey started 32 years ago, stated that the dearest need of people of the state is “restoration of peace through enhance security and good governance”. Which he would provide if elected
He assured residents of adequate security during the coming engineering campaign in all the 17 Local government area, saying security measures have been put in place to ensure that crime is reduced to its barest minimum during the period.
Senator Lar urged residents to be security conscious however Said that his first priorities is going to be based on Security, justice, equity would be anchor in the seven point agenda as a collective responsibility with every resident as a stakeholders in the security architecture of the State. “This is the only way to reduce crime rate to the barest minimum through agriculture revolution ”, he said.
Echoing that if elected come 2015 as the State Governor, the people of Plateau will witness fresh and renew policy that can transform the lives of an average person, he declared.
Lar added“all of us should be stakeholders in the security architecture of this State, emphasizing that he enjoined cordial working relationship with the out going amiable development wizard Jonah David Jang.
“We have also put measures in place to ensure that all the good people of Plateau State enjoy the privilege .
He commended the efforts of Governor Jang in putting in place very solid security architecture adding, “We have all the logistics to work with, we have all the enablement and we have all the support. All we need to do is to work hard to ensure that this State is peaceful and open to investments and continues to serve as a meeting point where every Nigerian will have a sense of belonging”.
He added, how would you feel if another political party will win over Plateau state after all this Years of PDP reign.
Lar vowed to woes the people of all the 17 local government areas for PDP to win in the state because he continue his campaign from wards, Local government to state level and
“my intention is to provide dividend of democracy to good people of Plateau state at all level of development “
Responding, acting state PDP Chairman, Raymond Dabo, commented Senator Lar for following the right process by informing the party leadership in the state of his intention.
Raymond who was represented by the zonal vice chairman, central, Hon. Yusuf Tokkit, assured a level playing group for all aspirants.
