Good deeds have continued to attract commendations and challenges to the govt and citizens alike.
Senator Osita Izunaso’s Kpakpando Foundation,an NGO that turned a muster seed of a man with immeasurable love for people with disabilities,otherwise known as “Special Citizens”, was on lastt Wednesday 29th October 2019 broke new grounds.
Addressing more than 2,500 people with various forms of disabilities with guests at his birthday celebrations in Owerri, Sen.Osita Izunaso,passionately requested for governments to set up relevant agencies that would care and cater for the general plights of the people with various forms of disabilities across Nigeria,as no state govts except Lagos have Ministries that Caters for the Needs of Special Citizens.
The Celebrant, a former National Organizing Secretary of the APC opined that the move will not only assist but give them a sense of belonging in the society by ameliorating their handicaps.
The former Imo West Senator and strong man in politics told the audience that love for all, is divine.
He observed that such Commission would also attract United Nations Funding in human capital developments.
Eminent Nigerians from different parts of the country who graced the occasion as four state governors and notable Traditional Rulers as well as Community Leaders added colour to the event.
The Chairman of the occasion, Gov.Simon Lalong who was ably represented by Senator Lar, expressed delight that worthy Nigerians abound but few are the likes of Senator Osita Izunaso whose hallmark remains how to make every one, especially disables realize God’s given potentials.
He pledged the sum of three Million naira (#3m) to the Foundation on behalf of Plateau State govt .
The Deputy Governor of Yobe State who represented Hon.Mai Mala Buni,the Executive Governor of Yobe State lauded Sen.Izunaso for his philosophy and vision to assist others.
He also donated the sum of ten Million Naira (#,10m) to the Foundation.
The Host Governor,Chief Emeka Ihedioha, ably represented by his Deputy,Engr.Gerald Irona,in an emotion laden voice described the celebrant as a worthy asset and brother.
He called on people to see the gestures as worthy of emulation,praying God to continue to sustain him.
The Leader of ODINMA Ideato Nation,Chief Nelson Okwara, who led a very powerful delegation extolled Izunaso, as a man God is using to break grounds.
The Odinma Ideato Leader said the magnanimity and show of love of Chief Osita Izunaso through his Kpakpando Foundation is Heartwarming.
“Morally and religiously speaking,this is the best place to Celebrate on Earth,People are equal before God”.
Chief Okwara therefore urged Nigerians to emulate Kpakpando Foundation.
Our reporter reports that the Birthday Celebrations which is the 14th edition kicked off with a High mass at Sen.Izunaso’ s residence In Owerri Civic Center saw Rev Fr.Bede Okorie from Enugu.
In his homily extolled senator Izunaso for his love for God and humanity.
The Catholic Clergy told the 54 year old celebrant to note that Life is all about grace.
In his words,”Every action of man is being Recorded by the Creator of the Universe, therefore continue with the grace.”
The highlight of the event was the cutting of the birthday cake by Osita Izunaso with disables/citizens with Special Needs and Friends,Many of the Handicapped got Various Empowerments .
One of the Royal Fathers, HRH Eze ( Dr.) Oliver Ohanwe ,Obi Gburu-gburu of Ihim Auto.Comm.in Isiala-Mbano LGA of Imo State,urged the beneficiaries to make good use of whatsoever good they received.
He cautioned them not to sale them all that was given to them to any body.
The beneficiaries were also treated by a team of Medical Personnel’s engaged by Sen.Osita Izunaso Free Medicare of the Foundation.
