Sen. Imasuen Empowers Over 620 Students in Edo

Sen. Neda Imasuen (LP–Edo South) says he has provided scholarships and purchased Joint Admission and Matriculation (JAMB) forms to 620 tertiary and secondary school students in the Edo South Senatorial District.

Imasuen made this known during an interactive session with members of the Correspondent’s Chapel on Saturday in Benin,

He disclosed that the gesture was part of his efforts to ensure quality education for students in his constituency.

He also added that he had distributed foundational learning and writing materials to about 21 primary schools across Edo South.

He assured that the initiative would be a continuous exercise to ensure that primary school students had basic tools needed to excel.

Imasuen said that he had also empowered constituents with training in agro and organic farming, distributed fertilizers, generators, and sewing machines.

According to him, I also launched a capacity building initiative for youth and women and sponsored 10 indigenes for a one-year fashion designer training and facilitated grants for over 2,000 constituents.

The Senator emphasised that the initiatives demonstrated his commitment to reducing poverty, improving healthcare, and foster self-reliance in the Edo South.

”In my commitment to ensuring power supply to various communities, I have installed solar street lights in Aragua Street, Urooghene and nine solar lights in Chief Ihama’s palace, Ihogbe.

“I have installed 20 solar lights in college road, Ehirobo street, 30 each at Igoumo, Eyean, Aduwawa, Azagba,Egba, Amagba, Odiguetue, Ogba, Iguogbe and Oluku communities among others,” he said.

Imasuen disclosed that he had facilitated the employment of over 17 constituents into the Nigeria Police Force, Public Complaint Commission, NAFDAC, NIMC, and the National orthopedic Hospital,Benin.

He maintained that as part of his efforts to ensure good roads, a 3.5km road in Ovia North East was under construction, while Irokhin-Abudu road had been completed .

”Amagba, Idokpa, Ediaken, and other communities earth roads had been sandfilld and graded to ease transportation during the rainy season.

“I have also facilitated the supply of medical equipment to health centres, organised medical outreach, and distributed optical eye glasses across Edo south.

”I have also supported the training of traditional birth attendance and equipped them with modern skills to provide safer maternal and child care services in Ovia South West, Oriohonmwon, and Uhumwode local governments,” he added.

According to him, I have made food security a priority in Edo South by distributing 5,000 bags of rice and other essentials to constituents annually. The gesture was also extended to widows.
